※※ R U Ready for a REVOLUTION ※※

It's official! Today I begin the countdown to the Race! That's right! I'm running my very first 5k!
I'm actually really excited about it, considering this would actually be the first New Year's Resolution that I have actually kept in my adult life.  I'm not sure why I wanted to run a 5k, but the one that I chose holds an important significance to me.  You see, 2 years ago, my mommy was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since been in remission.  I would like to consider her to be one of my best friends, but I don't wanna sound so cliche. :) But she truly is, and that is why I am doing this, for her.  But today...the countdown begins, officially!!!

On a different note, I got a Valentine's day card from my grandmother...she is the best!

I also took a picture of my tattoo today...its a little old, but I still love it!

I don't know if you guys can tell, but I'm a little bit bored...I'm just waiting to go to work, and I figured I would update...

By the way, I don't know if you can tell by the title, but I really LOVE LOVE LOVE the beatles...
What's your favorite song/album?

Abbey Road = my Favorite album

"Imagine" [not totally beatles, but close enough]

"Help"- ONE of my MANY favorite songs.

MK, that is all, I'm done, I'm gonna go read before work...
Stay Tuned! coming up next...MY PICTURES of random stuff! woohoo!

5 ★ CHICK

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

I have had some things weighing on my mind lately that I need to get out there and I finally have some free time, so I would like to share these things with you.
First things first...my favorite :
MUSIC
I have been discovering some great new music lately, and my phone made this awesome playlist the other day and this, my friends is what it consisted of:

this kid is absolutely amazing! he is what i would consider a "remixer" but they are pretty awesome...the ones that showed up on my playlist included:
☞One Love [feat. Estelle]
☞Sexy Bitch [feat. Akon]
☞Choose [feat. Ne-Yo and Kelly Rowland]
☞Gettin Over [feat. Chris Willis]
☞On the Dance Floor [feat. will.i.am]
☞I wanna go Crazy [feat. will.i.am]

Next up on the list

The xx.
my sister and FB boyfriend told me about these guys, and i just downloaded their stuff and I CANNOT get ENOUGH!
playlist rec's include:
✘ Hot like Fire
✘Cristalized
✘Basic Spaces

Cage the Elephant.
the tiny little gem that i can't get enough of. You may have heard of them, but I would suggest getting to know them. I don't really know where to put them if I would "categorize" them, but I'll give them whatever they want.
Who made the cut you ask?
✂ In One Ear
✂ Judas
✂ Ain't No Rest for the Wicked [duh]
✂ Back Against the Wall

And Finally....
☠Madonna- Celebration [Benny Benassi Remix]
*I actually watched the video for this after eating some "spaghetti" and it is very asthetically pleasing FYI. :)*
☠LMFAO- Leaving you for the Groove
please don't judge me for this one, it has a really great beat and its a great pace to run to

NEXT THINGS NEXT:
a blog you should follow
http://otbquotesredux.blogspot.com/
this little doosie here is a composition of quotes from one of the restaurants that i work at. You would be surprised what happens when certain people spend a lot of time together. If you are having a bad day, check this thing out.

another blog you should follow
http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
this one is one of my favorites. if you have never heard of it, you should look into it. You would be surprised how much random strangers have in common. its updated EVERY Sunday so you have something to do while you are hungover :)

i think that's it for today.
I still want to start a bookclub.
I can't guarantee it will be as big as Oprah's, but it will be just as fun!

One More thing:

WHO DAT?

in case you were wondering, all the pics are from google, and you can find all the music on iTunes...let me know if you hear any of it.

well well well.....

So, I haven't been here in a while...
but here goes nothing.

I saw this picture in the bathroom of a bar called "the cove". I feel like it is significant to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. This will be my new mission of the month...to figure out why this interesting portrayal of a woman should be significant to me.

I have decided that some things in my life need to change.
I need to start doing more things for myself these days.
Take more days of to let my creative genius flow [i know its in there somewhere].
I want to start doing yoga and listen to music that no one else knows.
I want a bookshelf soo soo soo badly, then I want to fill it up with anything and everything
[books of course]

on a different note, I have been able to start reading again, and I would like to share with you what I have so far.

The one that I just finished:
•To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee•

The one that I'm trying to finish:

•Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen•

The one that I'm going to read next:

•Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë•

I think i wanna start a book club...anyone wanna join me?
that's all for now, more tomorrow..

I'm a survivor...

I have been realizing lately that life isn't always as it seems. It can be hurtful, wonderful, curvy, straight, and even sometimes unexpected. When things happen in life (especially the bad things), we are most of the time thrown for a loop. Things won't always be wonderful, but that which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. But when things are great, don't take advantage of it. Embrace it. Enjoy the time that you have. Smile. Walk around in a field of flowers. Find your "special place". Take pictures, lots of pictures. Laugh, love, live. Do something crazy. Kiss the person you love (and don't forget to tell them you love them). Remember your childhood and revisit the things that made it great. Tell your secrets to someone, even if they are anonymous (www.postsecret.com).
I honestly don't know why I feel this wisdom needed to be shared, but if you are reading this, I hope you listen...
